NEW RESERVE TEAM ERA BEGINS TONIGHT
The show goes on and on the day Brendan Rodgers graduates from Chelsea reserve team manager to taking charge of a senior side in the Championship, his former players are heading to the Midlands for their first game for three weeks.
Facing West Bromwich Albion in a match at The Hawthorns, which can be seen live on Chelsea TV, is a side reflecting the youth team's big match at Old Trafford on Thursday.
Some of the younger reserve regulars are absent and in Brazilian international Mineiro, there will be an experienced pair of feet in the Blues midfield. Lee Sawyer is back from loan at League One Southend where he made 13 appearances and scored three goals and will also play in the middle of the park.
Carl Magnay is free from suspension and is welcomed back into central defence and with no traditional centre-forward available (Morten Nielsen is away with Demark Under 19s and Fabio Borini is in the Youth Cup squad), the spotlight will be on Scott Sinclair to supply goals.
While Chelsea are currently third in the Barclays Premier Reserve League South, West Brom are bottom, one home win standing out among four defeats.
The Chelsea reserve team's form is in tune with the first team's - points dropped at home but a perfect record so far in two games away.
Youth team manager Paul Clement takes charge tonight following Rodgers's departure.
The full team tonight is:
Rhys Taylor; Nana Ofori-Twumasi, Carl Magnay, Patrick van Aanholt, Liam Bridcutt, Lee Sawyer, Mineiro, Michael Woods, Fabio Ferreira, Scott Sinclair, Sergio Tejera.
Subs: Nic Heimann, Sam Hutchinson, Jack Saville, Tom Taiwo.
West Brom name seven experienced players in their side including keeper Dean Kiely, Slovakia international Marek Cech, Luke Moore and Korean Do-heon Kim who played against Chelsea's first team in our recent visit.
The full side is:
Kiely, Hoefkens, Cech, Kim, Barnett, Pele, Worrall, Dorrans, Samuels, Moore, MacDonald.
Subs: Hancox, Elford-Alliyu, Slusarski, Saied, Pike.
The game kicks off at 7pm and Chelsea TV's Monday Night Live begins coverage from 6.30pm.
Jason Cundy offers his expert analysis and once the previews are over, Clive Walker joins commentator Dan Roebuck to describe the action.
Prior to kick-off, Cundy will look back over the first team's action plus there will be all the latest news from Stamford Bridge.
Looking ahead to Thursday, Chelsea TV will also have exclusive coverage of the FA Youth Cup clash with Manchester United, as the Under 18s attempt to improve on last season's memorable campaign in the competition.
Former Under 16 assistant coach and FA Cup winner Eddie Newton returns to the Chelsea TV studios for the first time since taking up his new position at MK Dons. He will offer insight having coached many of the players who will be in action.
Coverage for that game starts at 6.15pm.
Rounding up an action-packed week on Chelsea TV, Friday's Big Match Countdown will look ahead to the weekend's derby with Arsenal, including the views of Blues legends who will be attending this year's Chelsea Pitch Owners' Lunch.
