Luiz Felipe Scolari has been awarded the Newfound Resorts Manager of the Quarter Award after his sensational start to life in England.

The Brazilian, who has become popular with players, fans and pundits, was recognised after our start to the season which sees us top the table, having played some superb football along the way.

Scolari came out on top against managers from all four levels of the professional game in England, with those in the Football League able to test themselves against their Premier League counterparts.

Managers are rewarded for all competitive results, with sound away form counting for extra. Points for clean sheets and goals scored, two columns where the Blues have excelled this season, are also awarded, as are bonus points for high winning margins.

Scolari, 59, was pleased with his award but eager to stress it is no individual effort.

'I am very honoured to receive this award, but it is not just me, it is for the whole of my staff and players,' he said.

'We have made a good start to the season and hope that it continues.'

He was presented with the trophy by John Duncan of the League Managers Association at Cobham on Friday afternoon (pictured).
